🧿 Etli Kuru Fasulye – White Bean (Cannellini) stew with meat.. You can use any meat, traditionally people use lamb but all I had was beef mince so I used that as I think in the recesses of my memory that my Nene used to do that or I might have just made that up! The other tradition, and I don’t know whether this is a Turkish thing only or not but we eat a raw onion with it..! Then all you need is the bread which is heaven dipped into the sauce. Don’t ask me why, but as a child sitting at my Nene’s table eating this, I used to eat a raw onion with it 🤣 Served with vermicelli rice and a rosemary and sea salt focaccai

  2. Looks yummy! Is this Turkish? This is what my mum normally cooks for a Lebanese family evening meal – I always associated with the Lebanese so it’s nice to see it done by you. And yes we eat it with raw onion too or radishes or fresh leafy herbs like rocket. We cook it in lamb shank meat with tomato sauce. Everyone I know that eat it with onion and coming from the village rather than from Beirut as city folk don’t like eating raw onion 🤣
