Every now and then you just need a taste of home ❤️

These candied peels are the last of my stash from Cyprus, and they are absolutely my favourites!

🍊turunç macunu (bitter orange) made with orange peel, sugar and water

🌰 (ok not a right pic) but you get the drift! 😉 the black ones are ceviz macunu (walnuts) made with whole walnuts, sugar, water, almonds, lemon and cloves

🍉 The lightest ones are karpuz (watermelon) made with watermelon peel, sugar, water, lemon juice and vanilla

My Nene used to make these, as she’s no longer with us 😭 I now buy them from trodos_gida every year, and they as close to homemade ones as I can find 👌🏼

Turkish coffee on the side, yep, some days are just made for this!
