I just heard on the news that travel abroad from the UK is extremely unlikely this year, so I’d like to put a call out for any airlines out there (who just happen to homecooks!), and put in a request to please GETMEOUTOFHERE! I need the sun!! I need Cyprus ❤️ 🙏🏻

On a lighter note, these lokma do remind me of home, it’s one of the first things we look to buy when we land on the island, and it’s delicious 🤤

For those that aren’t familiar with lokma, they are pastries made of bread and deep-fried dough, soaked in syrup or honey (ofc! 😂) with cinnamon. Let me tell you that the crunch in your mouth and then the release of syrup is just something else! 👌🏼

The Arabs used to call these “judge’s morsels”, in their 13th century cookbooks, the Turks call it lokma, the Greeks call it loukoumades. It doesn’t matter what you call it, it’s just a delicious sweet dessert and one of our family favourites 😋

I’ve made this recipe from georgiepuddingnpie book Taverna, three times now, and it is fab! Have a great weekend all..!
