Semi-lazy Sunday. Aside from a beach-front walk, I sat on my bum, Marc made a fire, and we started to rewatch the series 24.

Asked eldest son what he fancied for dinner, and he said Chinese takeout, and could targue with that?!

You may have seen the apple crumble on my stories at the weekend, unfortunately, it got eaten by my youngest hungover son before I could take a photo, so here’s one I made earlier..! Recipe ⬇️ and step-by-step on my grid. To make for 4:

🍎 Ingredients:

250 gms plain flour plus 1 extra heaped tbls for later
150 gms caster sugar
150 gms butter, softened & diced plus 50 gms for later
1 tsp (heaped) cinnamon
8 Braeburn apples, cored, peeled and diced
2 heaped tbls light brown sugar

🍎 Method:

Add the flour, sugar, cinnamon and diced butter into a bowl, and mix with your hands until they resemble breadcrumbs. Try to leave a few lumps of butter in the mix. Set to one side.

Into your baking dish add your diced apples, 1 heaped tbls of flour, 1 tsp of cinnamon, 2 heaped tbls light brown sugar and evenly scatter the 50 gms of butter across the dish. With a spoon, mix everything together.

Add your breadcrumbs onto of your apples, spreading it out well. Tap the dish to allow it to settle, and then pop into the over on 180 for approximately 45 minutes, rotating at the midway point. Enjoy! 😋
